Expectations

Code of Conduct.

MY-HACK is a community event built on learning, collaboration, and mutual respect. Every participant, mentor, volunteer, and judge is expected to follow this code — organizers will enforce it throughout the event.

✓ Be kind and respectful. No insults, put-downs, or disrespectful treatment of anyone — attendees, mentors, volunteers, or judges.
✓ Compete with good sportsmanship. Care about the process, not just winning. Play fair, and respect every team's effort and their right to try to win — that's not personal.
✓ Do your best, and believe in yourself. Whatever you build, show up with a positive attitude — that's what this weekend is really about.
✓ Follow directions from organizers, mentors, and volunteers, and treat them with the same respect you'd want from your own teammates.
✓ Bring disputes to the right place. For anything urgent, message us in the community WhatsApp for a quick response. For formal disputes, judging questions, or anything after the event, put it in writing to my-hack@mafiq.org.
✓ Respect the convention venue as a shared community space. Follow the venue's on-site policies, and the same laws that apply anywhere else.

Violating this code may result in removal from the event, at the organizers' discretion.

After hours

The hacking doesn't stop when the doors do.

The venue is open 8 AM–11 PM Saturday and 8 AM–5 PM Sunday — there's no overnight stay on-site this year. Here's what that means for your team.

✓ When the venue closes at 11 PM Saturday, everyone heads out — no overnight stay on-site.
✓ Keep building wherever you land — home, a hotel, wherever your team can regroup. The clock doesn't stop just because the doors do.
✓ Before you leave Saturday night, sync with your team on what each person is tackling overnight so you walk back in Sunday with real progress.
✓ Arrange a ride for pickup at 11 PM Saturday, and to get back by 8 AM Sunday when the venue reopens.
✓ Be back and ready to go when the venue reopens Sunday morning — you'll have until the submission deadline to finish strong.
